What?

BC Parks has approved a zoning amendment for Nancy Greene Park, updating the zoning in the Purpose Statement and Zoning Plan approved in 2003. A supplementary Management Plan Amendment has also been prepared for the Park. Both were approved in March 2025 and are available in the Documents section of this page.

Why?

Nancy Greene Park’s overnight facilities were limited to 12 campsites located around the day use parking lot, which had led to occasional conflicts occur between overnight and day users because of shared use of the parking lot and adjacent facilities (e.g., picnic tables and fire rings).

An amendment to the Intensive Recreation Zone area will allow camping can be separated from day use facilities. Moving camping to a different area of the park will alleviate existing use challenges and better serve user demand.

The new Intensive Recreation Zone can accommodate a new campground of approximately 30 sites plus has the flexibility to support future use demands, should they arise.
