BC Parks Day-Use Pass Program Survey
BC Parks is committed to protecting and managing the province’s diverse wilderness for future generations, and providing high-quality, safe, outdoor recreation opportunities.
Recreational use of parks is increasing significantly. While positive for park visitors, this unprecedented increase in visitors risks negatively impacting ecological integrity, impacting Indigenous people’s way of life in protected areas, and overwhelming our park services and infrastructure. This can lead to crowded parks, a less enjoyable visitor experience, and impacts on natural and cultural features, as well as fragile ecosystems.
Visitor Use Managementis a proactive and adaptive way of managing the impact of visitor activities in parks, used extensively by many park organizations.By monitoring and adapting our management tools and strategies, like the day-use pass, we hope to maintain and improve visitor experiences, safety, and protect cultural and natural park features.
