What?

BC Parks is considering a zoning amendment for Nancy Greene Park. Nancy Greene Park's zoning was set out in the Purpose Statement and Zoning Plan (the management plan) approved in 2003.

Why?

Nancy Greene Park’s overnight facilities are currently limited to 12 campsites located around the day use parking lot. Conflicts occur periodically between overnight and day users because of shared use of the parking lot and adjacent facilities (e.g., picnic tables and fire rings).

An amendment to the Intensive Recreation Zone area is being proposed so camping can be separated from day use facilities. Moving camping to a different area of the park will alleviate existing use challenges and better serve user demand.

The proposed new Intensive Recreation Zone will be able to accommodate a new campground of approximately 30 sites plus has the flexibility to support future use demands, should they arise.

How can I be involved?

Please review the draft amendment and give us your thoughts on this proposal using the survey link below.
